Myrath (which means Legacy) was formed in early 2001 under the name of XTAZY by guitarist Malek Ben Arbia, just 13 years old at the time, with two of his childhood friends Fahmi Chakroun (drums) and Oualid Issaoui (guitar).
The line up was shortly after completed by Zaher Ben Hamoudia (bass) and Tarek Idouani (vocals).

Myrath first started playing in local concerts a variety of songs of different styles of their favorite bands which goes from blues to heavy metal to death metal.

In 2003 Elyes Bouchoucha (keyboards and vocals) who just graduated from Tunis conservatory joined the band in replacements of Tarek Idouani while Oualid Issaoui (guitar) quit the band.
With this new line up Myrath got into progressive metal and for almost 2 years they played in several concerts exclusively songs of the progressive metal band Symphony X which was their favorite band of that time and still is.
After several years of playing music written by others, Myrath gained enough experience and playing skills to start writing their own. The choice of music they decided to write reflected their oriental origin and their western influence (a combination of progressive, oriental, heavy and melodic).

Novembers Doom is one of the earliest U.S. dark/death/doom metal metal bands that are still active today. The band is from Chicago, Illinois. They are currently signed to The End Records.

History

Formation and early history

Novembers Doom formed in 1989, but it was not until 1992 that Novembers Doom would receive some attention in the metal world. An early deal with Regress Records, of Italy, allowed Avantgarde Records to hear the band. This demo (Her Tears Drop) was heavy, combined with moods of darkness and despair. The two songs would lead to the release of the band’s full length debut CD, Amid Its Hallowed Mirth on Avant Garde and Nuclear Blast. Exploring and expanding, the band added female backing vocals and continued its thick, eerie brand of metal. A compilation track for Pavement Music soon followed. In 1997, Novembers Doom released the EP For Every Leaf That Falls. The album was well received, leading to favorable reviews and response worldwide. Black/Industrial/Dark Metal From Switzerland (Sion, Valais)

Samael are a long-running Swiss black metal band formed in 1987 in Sion, Switzerland.

Although much of their music from the mid-1990s onwards has incorporated electronic sounds which would best define their genre as industrial metal, they are an early 2nd Wave black metal band and an innovator for post-black metal styles.

Their first demos presented a slow, doomy style of thrash metal with raw vocals, similar to that of Celtic Frost. Some of the songs would be included on Worship Him (1991) and Blood Ritual (1992).

Around the time of Ceremony of Opposites (1994), the band started using industrial-styled song techniques, employed by the use of keyboards and (minimalist) acoustic percussion. By this time, they had also left French record label Osmose Productions and signed with Century Media Records.

Atmospheric Death Metal From Greece (Athens)

Hailing from Athens, Attica, Greece, Septic Flesh was founded in 1990. Their sound was a Hellenic brand of death metal mixed with doom metal and gothic metal elements. The band has often been compared to other bands of a similar style, like Paradise Lost, Anathema, My Dying Bride or Nightfall. In 2003 the band disbanded but reunited in 2007 with a different line-up.

Since reuniting, they play a mix of death metal and neo-classical. This combination is often described as atmospheric death metal or symphonic death metal.

The Haunted is a Swedish heavy metal band, formed in 1996 in Gothenburg, Sweden. The original members were Patrik Jensen (also member of Witchery) (guitar), Jonas Björler (bass), Adrian Erlandsson (drums), Anders Björler (guitar), and Peter Dolving (vocals). Both of the Björler brothers and Erlandsson were members of seminal melodic death metal band At the Gates, a pioneering force in the Swedish death metal scene. Modern Metal/Melodic Death Metal From Sweden

Scar Symmetry is a melodic death metal band from Avesta, Sweden formed in 2004. In addition to the typical melodic death metal aesthetics (numerous melodies and harmonies in the guitars, growling vocals, etc.), they incorporate synthesised sounds into their music. Their lyrics are themed towards mysticism, philosophy, and inner struggles. They had been touring through North America with Dark Tranquillity, The Haunted and Into Eternity, and took part in a US/Canada tour with Katatonia, Insomnium, and Swallow the Sun in 2007.

The band’s third album “Holographic Universe” was released on June 20, 2008. Following the release, Scar Symmetry did not embark on tours and released a statement 11 September 2008, announcing that they had parted ways vocalist Christian Älvestam, due to touring conflicts and creative differences. On 6 October, they announced the replacements for Christian Älvestam: they will continue with two singers, Roberth Karlsson (growls) and Lars Palmqvist (clean vocals).

The opening track “Awake” is one which defines the band’s sound, with Jacobs saying, “we get more diverse, different keys, tempos and styles throughout, but that’s the song that defines what we sound,” while “Reflections” is another band favorite, thanks to its unforgettable melodies. Jacobs says that “Forsaken” is the song where “we stepped outside the box to show a different side of the band, with clean guitars.”
It appears as though the Mutiny Within story is just beginning and that the ins and outs of their formation lead to a happy ending, so to speak. “We dedicated our whole lives to this,” Jacobs said. “Two guys dropped their lives in England and didn’t know if it would work, since we weren’t even signed at the time, but it means so much to us and we had that dedication to do it.”
Certainly, Mutiny Within aren’t a traditional band, having used technology and the Internet to their benefit and thus forcing the band to work in different ways. “Most bands get in a van, go out, play, tour, tour, tour,” Jacobs said. “We’re at that chapter now. The focus for us was always just writing songs. That’s been our lives. We played 30 shows with Chris and then got signed. We made every song as special as the next. Each track has lots of time put into it. We were a band that aspired to get a deal and make records, so we made the focus should be of efforts be the songs.”

Animations is a polish prog-fusion band. It has been started back in 2006 by four young, but well musically-taught musicians.

The band plays music which combines classic progressive rock, metal, fusion along with jazz elements. Its music is spiced up a bit by adding the one magic ingredient - virtuosity.

In 2006 the band has recorded a two instrumental piece promo album. The promo has gained such unexpected popularity and critical acclaim, that the band was literally 'forced' to begin working on a full-length album.

The debut album was recorded between September 2006 and February 2007. It's available on the market since 16th July 2007. Within a week since the release it has received really good reviews and sold almost one hundred copies (which is a tremendeous success as in Polish music industry standards).

Tomydeepestego is a creature formed in the beginnings of 2006. It can boast members coming from Inferno, Malkavian and The Phoenix, all musicians that have been for quite a long time on the Italian and European underground scene, each one carrying his own musical and cultural background. Everyone contributed to create something that mirrored musically the basic idea of the creature TMDE. Without a singer, the music plays the leading role, getting in its every single part a meaning which is broader and more complex than it happens in others bands that have a more canonical formation.

Essence of Sorrow, initially a solo project, began to take shape during the spring of 2005 in Gothenburg, Sweden. Founded by Jani Stefanovic (Divinefire, ex Renascent, etc.) he began to compose intricate music that expressed various feelings through strong melancholic melodies. As time passed by, Jani began to expand his vision by transforming his solo project into a full piece band. After inviting well known musicians such as Mats Leven (ex Yngwie Malmsteen), and Mikko Härkin (ex. Sonata Arctica), he was able to invite more talented artists. Proceeding their recording sessions a permanent line up was assembled to reveal the art of Essence of Sorrow.

Rivel Records will be releasing their debut album, entitled: "Reflections of the Obscure", 21 dec 2006 Japan & 10th Jan 2007 across Europe & States.

Sumatra band was formed on 21 of September 2005 by Alik Galstyan and Andrey Koval. The idea of Swallow the Sun was formed in Jyväskylä, Finland in spring 2000 by Juha Raivio. He had few songs that didn’t fit the style of his band at the time, Plutonium Orange. Pasi Pasanen was playing drums in Plutonium Orange at the time, so Juha started rehearsing the songs with him. In 2001 they started to look for people to play with - the first one to join the line-up was Markus Jämsen, whom Pasanen and Raivio already knew from their earlier projects. After Jämsen, along came Mikko Kotamäki from Funeris Nocturnum as the bassist/vocalist. Later on they decided that the band needed keyboards and a dedicated bassist, so they turned to Funeris Nocturnum, from where they got Aleksi Munter on keyboards and Matti Honkonen on bass, and the line-up was complete.

Assassinate the Following... is a four piece band hailing from Windsor, Ontario Canada. Started in July 2006 by Brandon White and Drew Torok as a departure of their old band, their goal was and still is to produce the heaviest head banging, techinical, progressive metal music for your listening pleasure. They have succesfully shared the stage with many bands, published a five song EP in August 2007, and are currently promoting their first full-length Massacre of the North. The band has a wide range of influences that combine their own sound of razor sharp progressive metal. In August 2007 the band recorded their debut self-titled EP at Spectre Sound. Gardenian was a melodic death metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden. They came together in 1996 and made 3 full length albums before splitting up - ‘Two Feet Stand’ (1998), ‘Soulburner’ (1999) and ‘Sindustries’ (2000). They split up in 2004. ‘Two Feet Stand’ was signed by Listenable Records, and after that the band signed with german Nuclear Blast. After ‘Soulburner’ they replaced their bassplayer Håkan Skooger with Kris. Håkan continued with his sideproject Headplate. ‘Sindustries’ was recorded at Studio Abyss, Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy & Pain) studio. They disbanded shortly after. NahemaH is the result of the artistic interests of musicians placed in Alicante, a Mediterranean city on the south east of Spain. The project was born in early 1997 and it became more than a band, but a way of life for those involved. In 1999 the band selfreleased their first album “Edens In Communion”. 2001 brought the release of NahemaH’s second album “Chrysalis” (Iberian Moon Records). Pulling from such influences as Dark Tranquillity or Opeth, the album proved to be very successful and was received well within the media exposure that was attained. The critical acclaim NahemaH got from Chrysalis coupled with the 2002 most nominated band readers poll in the Spanish metal magazine Hell Awaits allowed for opportunities to open for bigger acts that were touring Spain, such as Moonspell and Alastis as well as a Mexican release of their debut album. 2007 sees the release of the bands second full length, “The Second Philosophy” (Lifeforce Records). Divine Heresy is an American metalcore/death metal band, formed in 2006 by former Fear Factory and current Asesino guitarist Dino Cazares. After searching for a drummer, he recruited Tim Yeung, a former member of Vital Remains and Hate Eternal. After successful jam sessions, they decided to form the band.

After eight months of writing and rehearsing, Cazares recruited Tommy Vext as the band’s vocalist. They then recorded their debut album Bleed The Fifth between February and May 2007.

Recently, Cazares brought in former Nile bassist Joe Payne for touring and future recording (Dino did the bass tracks on the 1st album).

Tommy Vext was kicked out from the band involving an on stage dispute whether to end their set early or not. He was replaced with Travis Neal.

Travis Neal is from San Diego, CA and is the vocalist for Sweden’s The Bereaved as well as LA based band HateTimesNine.

PAULZEDER's project comes to life at the very beginning of the year 2005 , thanks to the will of Andrea, owner of the Bluwave Studio, who decided to contact Jkross , AleXXX and Sabba

Both the composition of the songs and the hard work in studio lead Paulzeder through stronger choices, enriched by sounds and tempos definitely more “industrial”. Lyrics are written in English, riffing is quite simple, but strong and straight; moreover the use of electronic and industrial sounds increase the entire work, especially during the final arranging.

The Paulzeder’s line up is now composed by AleXXX, JKross and Sabba. At the end of September 2008 the new bassist S.V.E.R.S.O and the guitarist CYTTE (who already was the “Live Bassist” in 2008) joined the band as part of the new official Line up.

The live performances aim to purpose to the audience the same emotions you can feel listening to their CD: a strong impact and an undisputed skill.

RISE TO FALL born in mid 2006 with the aim to make music performed by experienced members from different bands. It was not until 2007 when the group was finally completed with the enrolement of the new drummer.

Job for a Cowboy is an American death metal band, formed in Glendale, Arizona in 2003. They released their first EP, Doom in 2005, and later that year signed with the Metal Blade label. Their official debut album, Genesis, was released in 2007, peaking at #54 on the Billboard 200 and selling 13,000 copies in its first week.

Job for a Cowboy started as a deathcore group, and evolved into a predominantly death metal sound with their full-length debut Genesis.

Infernal Poetry was born in Ancona, Italy, during the year 1996 with the name Necronomicon. In 1997, they changed their name in Infernal Poetry and in 2002 they released the first album called Not Light but Rather Visible Darkness, an album that mixed some pure death metal attitudes with more melodic parts.

Voivod are a progressive thrash band from Jonquiere, Quebec, Canada, with a very distinct sound. Formed by Denis “Piggy” D’Amour, Michel “Away” Langevin and Jean-Yves “Blacky” Theriault, the fledging group soon found the perfect singer in Denis “Snake” Belanger. A blend of thrash with some progressive rock thrown in, and lyrics leaning heavily on sci-fi imagery. One of the first Canadian punk and thrash bands to enjoy success outside of Canada, they released four albums in the mid ’80s before being signed to a major label. War And Pain in 1984, Rrroooaaarrr! in 1986, Killing Technology in 1987, and Dimension Hatross in 1988. Their blend of thrash and progressive rock caught the ear of MCA Records, who signed them and released their next album, Nothingface in 1989. The video of their Pink Floyd cover, Astronomy Domine, got tons of MTV airplay. They would headline a club tour with bands like Soundgarden and Faith No More, relative unknowns at the time, opening for them.

Things started slowly sliding downhill for them after, their next album being poorly received, 1991’s Angel Rat. ‘grunge’ was taking hold, with bands such as their former opening act, Soundgarden, enjoying a rise to stardom. Blacky left the band quickly after Angel Rat’s release. 1993 saw the release of The Outer Limits album.

According to interviews with the band members, "Infini" is intended to be the final Voivod album. It contains unreleased songs that were recorded by founding guitarist Denis "Piggy" D'Amour, who succumbed to colon cancer in August 2005.

Media rumors originally suggested that bassist Jean-Yves Thériault (Blacky) and/or guitarist Dan Mongrain would play on this album. All guitar recordings are originals, recorded by Piggy in 2004, so Blacky and Dan Mongrain never recorded the album.

The melodic death metal band Beyond the Sixth Seal formed in Weymouth, Massachusetts back in 1997.

They released their first demo, Genocide Empire, in 1999 which was followed by The White Demo in 2000. Their first EP, A Homicide Divine, was then released by Voice of Life Records the following year. Another demo was released the next year, called Knives & Guns. Their first full-length production, Earth and Sphere, was released in 2002 by Lifeforce Records.

The band broke up in 2003 but has reformed as of 2006 as a studio project.

Their second full-lenght album The Resurrection Of Everything Tough was released on May 1, 2007 through Metal Blade Records.

Mike Mckenzie and Gregory Weeks are also members of The Red Chord.

Hailing from Daytona Beach, Florida, The Autumn Offering is a metalcore band on Victory Records. The band was formed in 1999, when former bassist Sean Robbins was a freshman in high school. By 2003, they had completed several regional tours and self-booked US tours. After Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta took notice of them, The Autumn Offering was signed to Stillborn Records and released Revelations of the Unsung the same year.

In 2005, the band was signed to Victory Records. After their debut was reissued in January 2006, they entered Audiohammer Studios with Jason Suecof (God Forbid, Trivium) to begin work on Embrace the Gutter, which was released on May 16, 2006.
